Daredevil (Mods)
Custom Action Figures - Marvel
Tuesday, 22 August 2006
daredevil1.jpgThe Face-Off assortment of figures has produced some of the best Marvel figures from Toy Biz.  Face-Off Hulk, Captain America, and Baron Strucker come to mind.  The Daredevil that came with the Kingpin figure has met with mixed reviews.  While it is the most detailed sculpt to date, compared with the earlier renditions from the Spider-Man Classics line, it's plagued by awkward shoulder articulation and arguably goes too far with clothing wrinkles.

Finding myself with a rare moment of free time, I tried to see what I could do about that.  Let me know how you think it turned out.

Captain Britain (Quick Mods)
Custom Action Figures - Marvel
Tuesday, 18 July 2006
capbritainmod1.jpgI was extremely excited when Toy Biz announced that they were including Captain Britain in their exclusive Wal-Mart assortment of Marvel Legends, but disappointed when they later revealed that the figure would be based on the Black Panter body - too small, funny shoulders.

I got one anyways - I knew I could always say that I did it just for the piece of the Build-A-Figure Giant Man.  I did this quickie custom to see if I could fix some of the shortcomings of the base.  Let me know how you think it turned out.

Sabretooth (Exiles)
Custom Action Figures - Marvel
Saturday, 01 July 2006
exilessabretooth1.jpgThe Age of Apocalypse Sabretooth is my least favorite from figure the exclusive series of Marvel Legends that hit Wal-Mart a few months ago.  Despite that I am not a fan of AOA, I have been warming up to the character, since he's a fixture in Exiles, one of my favorite comics of late.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to warm up to the original figure.  I do like the sculpt and proportions of the body, but the exaggerated features on the original head sculpt just don't work for me.  So I just added a little Super Sculpey and some paint, and now I'm much happier.

Two Logans (ML11 and AXM)
Custom Action Figures - Marvel
Monday, 12 June 2006
logan1.jpgaxmlogan1.jpgIf you told me a while ago that I'd be making one Logan custom, I probably would have chuckled.  After all, we've gotten enough Wolverine / Logan action figures in the Marvel Legends line, and I've bought all of them.

If you told me I'd make two of them, one right after the other, I'd be laughing out loud.  Because despite the abundance of Wolverine / Logan action figures I've bought, I've already done customs or modifications for four of them.  That's at least four too many.

Anyways, I'm laughing now.  Not because I actually did do two Logans, back to back, but because I actually like them quite a bit.
