 I'm
beginning to believe Nick Fury's hype - if he didn't exist, the whole
Marvel universe would fall apart. He's getting so much exposure
these days that I can't pick up a comic without seeing him overthrowing
a government, manipulating people, or showing a naive hero that sometimes you
have to do very bad things - all for the greater good of the old U.S. of A.
While we already got a Nick Fury from Marvel Legends, he was a little
too big and a little too pretty. I wanted something old and
gnarly.

 I had more planned for the Mimic I made for our Exiles: Reality Check entry for
CustomCon 14.
The custom I made had a single head - but the goggles were removable,
and I took pictures with "goggles on" and "goggles off." My original
intent was to make his head so he could wear the "goggles up" on his
forehead or over his eyes.
After working on it, I figured out I wouldn't be able to get his hair
to look right for both versions. I decided to make swappable heads, but
ran out of time before the CustomCon deadline.

 For
CustomCon 14, we decided to do a team entry of the Exiles ( Exiles: Reality Check). I
became an instant fan of the comic book after a lot of nagging from
my buddy Ayeffkay. He had hounded me for a while to give it
a shot, and I'm starting to realize I should listen to him more often.
So when the guys suggested Exiles, I was all over it. My
contribution this time around were two of the earliest Exiles - Mimic
and Sunfire.
