 Right on the heels of my Super Hero Showdown Cyclops custom comes a version of Iceman in the same scale. However, I don't think I'm fully hooked on the 3 3/4 inch scale. The customs are a lot quicker at this scale, but you're kind of limited as far as the amount of detail you can add via sculpting.
Iceman was a relatively simple custom to do. I really started him because I wanted to test out some white vinyl dye that I plan on using on a more elaborate custom one day. Still, he makes a nice addition to the growing X-team I have in the Showdown scale. |

 The first custom I started in the 6-inch scale (and really my first custom ever) was a Marvel Legends Cyclops.
So it's an interesting coincidence (probably only to me) that my first
custom in the 3 3/4-inch scale is a Super Hero Showdown Cyclops.
I hadn't given much thought to customizing at this scale, for a couple of reasons. First, carl
has a virtual lock on all things Super Hero Showdown - and his stuff is
as good as it gets. Second, I'm getting old and my eyes aren't
what they used to be. But when Indy
sent me the SHS Series 2 Captain America, I had to get another one
because the A on his head was painted off-center. What to do with

 My
entry for Custom Con 13, X-Men Legends Gift Set: Danger Room, was based
on their team uniforms in an early Jim Lee run on Uncanny X-Men.
During this run, Uncanny #275 featured a memorable gatefold cover with
all 7 team members (Gambit, Banshee, Forge, Psylocke, Wolverine, Storm,
and Jubilee) in this getup.
While my entry pictured six customs
(I have a Jubilee custom, but not in this costume), only Banshee,
Gambit, Storm, and Wolverine were new. I had finished and shown
Forge previously, and Psylocke was just a headswap of the head of my
old Psylocke custom onto Storm's body.

CustomCon 13 is on!
CustomCon shows off the custom action figures of many
different Customizers. It is in the format of a fictional toy action
figure trade show or convention. There are daily reports and pictures
of the action figures that are participating in the CustomCon.
My solo entry, X-Men Legends Gift Pack: Danger Room! is showing as part of Day 2 (out of 15). Stay tuned to this space for more detailed writeups soon.
